healthy teeth are happy teeth (& radius toothbrush giveaway)

I was cursed with bad teeth.  Despite daily brushing, every time I go to the dentist, without fail, I have at least one cavity, and usually two or three.  My last visit, three weeks ago, I had seven.  Seven cavities.  I didn't even know I had that many teeth left to get cavities in.   Evidently you can get cavities in teeth that already have them.  Who knew?  Dentists, I guess.  I hate dentists.

After this last visit, during which I was subjected to a "gum exam" and given a 20 minute lecture on the importance of flossing to prevent gum disease, I arrived home determined to do more to turn my oral health around.  I wouldn't say I was inspired so much as chagrined.   I really don't ever want to have to sit through another lecture.

As fate would have it, the very next day I received an email from a very nice representative from Radius Toothbrush, wondering if I would like to try out their oral care products and do a giveaway on my blog.  Knowing that I could use all the help and inspiration I can get, I agreed, because, frankly, their recycled handle toothbrushes--made from wood, flax, or money--were pretty cool looking and cranberry silk floss sounded so much better than the plain old stuff sitting in my drawer at home.

I am a devout electric toothbrush user, so despite how pretty, I was very skeptical that a manual toothbrush would do the trick.  I was pleasantly surprised.  The curvy handle was very comfortable to hold, and the wide brush did a great job cleaning both my top and bottom teeth at the same time.  Two weeks later, I am still drawn to it each morning and my poor (free) Oral-B Vitality toothbrush is just sitting there.  The floss is very nice too and doesn't peel at all, one of the most annoying features of regular floss.

But since this is 30 days of Holiday Cheer, you knew there had to be a giveaway coming!   One lucky reader will win the same two products pictured above--a Source Toothbrush and Natural Silk Cranberry Floss--and get some very happy teeth.

  4. Oh I hear ya! I don't have a TON of cavities, but I despise going to the dentist. I'm sure they're really nice people, generally speaking (we have a friend who is a dentist - standup guy!)....but I just DON'T like going. I've got white knuckles during a *cleaning*! lol

I like the idea of the intelligent brushes - all that technology in one little toothbrush, lol! I wish they had kiddo ones with timers though - MUCH needed!

    Happy flossing! ;-)
